A large and sporty coupe, the 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo is offered in two trims; the LS and the Z34. The LS seats six passengers and is powered by a 3.1L V6 engine which produces 160 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque. The Z34 seats five passengers and is powered by a 3.8L V6 which develops 200 hp and 225 lb-ft of torque. Both versions are paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and they both achieve around 30 mpg on the highway.
