2009 Nissan Frontier Overview

Boasting minor styling updates for 2009, the Nissan Frontier compact pickup gets a new front fascia, headlights and instrument panel, as well as optional leather seating and the PRO-4X trim for off-road travel with Bilstein shocks, additional skid plates, electronic rear differential, limited-slip differential and exclusive wheels. The Nissan Frontier features two engines: a 2.5L four-cylinder engine generating 152 hp and 171 lb-ft of torque and a 4.0L V6 engine commanding 261 hp and 281 lb-ft. The four-cylinder engines are paired to a standard five-speed manual transmission, or a five-speed automatic on the SE. Depending on other option choices, the V6 engine can be teamed with either a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic transmission. The King Cab V6 4x2 tops the truck's towing capacity at 6,500 pounds. EPA-estimated fuel economy for the four-cylinder engines with automatic is 17 mpg city/22 mpg hwy and 19 mpg combined. The V6 engines with automatic and the 4WDs get 14 mpg city/19 mpg hwy and 16 mpg combined. Among the standard safety features are antilock disc brakes, with side and side-curtain airbags as options, and optional stability control for the LE and PRO-4X.
