The 2009 BMW 6-Series is largely unchanged compared to the 2008 6-Series. This sporty 2-door comes as either a coupe or a convertible. Both body styles seat four passengers comfortably. Convertibles have a soft top that is power operated and has a heated glass rear window. The 2009 BMW 6-Series has a 360 hp 4.8L V8 and a choice of manual or automatic transmission. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, and front and side airbags that provide greater protection for the driver and passengers. The 6-Series coupe has head-protecting tubular side airbags. BMW's Active Roll Stabilization, designed to counter body lean and Dynamic Drive Control that adjusts suspension, throttle and transmission settings for sportier response, is a standard feature. BMW's Active Steering, designed to quicken low-speed steering response is optional on the 2009 BMW 6-Series. Both the coupe and convertible come with a navigation system, steering-linked headlights and BMW's iDrive controller for climate, audio and navigation functions.
