2009 BMW X5 Overview

The 2009 BMW X5 is a 4-door, 5-passenger SUV that has an optional third-row seat to increase the load by two people if desired. New options on the X5 for 2009 include heated rear seats and an automatic tailgate. The BMW X5 currently has two engine options in the 3.0L inline 6-cylinder which produces 260 hp or the larger 4.8L V8 which produces 350 hp. Keep your eyes peeled for the forthcoming twin-turbo diesel option which produces 265 hp and a powerful 400 lb-ft of torque. The BMW X5 features a standard 6-speed automatic transmission and xDrive AWD. Optional on the X5 is a 6-disc DVD changer, a premium hi-fi system, navigation, voice activation, real-time traffic information, a rear-view camera and many other features to make the BMW X5 a great choice. Tipping the scales at 5335 lbs, the 2009 BMW X5 still gets up to 60 mph in just 6.4 seconds with the 4.8L V8 under the hood , while the 3.0L inline 6 gets there in a respectable 7.8 seconds. Optional Adaptive Brake lights make sure that anyone driving behind you understands how hard you are breaking by increasing the strength of the brake light based on how hard you push the pedal. The BMW X5 is strong competition against the Audi Q7 and the Mercedes-Benz M-Class. Gas mileage is strong with the I6 getting 19/30 mpg and the V8 getting 17/27 mpg.
