2009 Ford Expedition EL Overview

The 2009 Ford Expedition EL is a four-door, eight-passenger full-size SUV. The Expedition EL is a longer bodied version of the regular Expedition with a 131-inch wheelbase. When equipped with four-wheel drive, the Ford Expedition EL is extremely capable and will get you home safely, whether the road is dry, wet, snowy or hardly there at all. The Expedition EL adds more cargo-carrying capacity than the shorter wheelbase Ford Expedition. It is powered by a single-overhead-cam 5.4L V8 that is rated at 300 hp and 365 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard equipment. The Ford Expedition EL is available with either rear-wheel drive or electronically engaged four-wheel drive. A Class III trailer hitch is standard and the Expedition EL offers towing capacities in the 9000-pound range, which is enough to get your boat to the lake comfortably. The 2009 Ford Expedition EL is a carryover from the 2008 Ford Expedition EL.
