2009 Porsche Cayenne Overview

New for the 2009 Porsche Cayenne is a Turbo S trim with a more powerful 550-hp 4.8L turbocharged V8 engine, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, 21-inch wheels and two-tone leather interior, while larger ceramic brakes are optional. An all-wheel-drive midsize luxury SUV, the Base Cayenne is equipped with a 3.6L V6 engine producing 290 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque paired to a six-speed manual transmission, while the other trims feature a six-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel-mounted manual shift controls known as Tiptronic. The next step up is the S trim, which has a 385-hp 4.8L V8 engine with 369 lb-ft of torque, followed by the GTS with a 405-hp version of the V8, and finally the Turbo, which prevails with a turbocharged V8 boasting 500 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy for the Cayenne ranges from 12-14 mpg city to18-20 mpg hwy. Off-road capabilities are greatly improved by an optional package adding a locking rear differential, hydraulically disconnecting stabilizer bars and skid plates. Porsche Cayenne standard features include comfortable bucket seats and high-quality materials throughout the cabin.
