2011 GMC Sierra 3500HD Overview

Offering single rear-wheel or dual rear-wheel layouts, the 2011 GMC Sierra 3500HD presents themselves as the toughest truck in the brand's lineup. Coming in regular cab, extended cab and crew cab body styles, 2011 GMC Sierra 3500HD frame has been strengthened to handle greater hauling capacity. With improved capability of the one-ton 2011 Sierra 3500HD, suspension, wheels and tires have also been reworked. Also retouched for 2011 is the GMC Sierra 3500HD's optional 6.6 liter Duramax turbodiesel engine belting out 397 horsepower and 765 pounds-feet of torque. Using the Duramax engine inside a regular cab Sierra 3500HD four-wheel drive mated with dual rear-wheel, a maximum towing capacity of 21,700 pounds is achieved. Standard power from a gasoline Vortec 6-liter V-8 engine is a carryover from the previous model year. Equipped with Work Truck, SLE and SLT trim levels, all 2011 Sierra 3500HD are found with essential heavy-duty features. Standard oil and transmission coolers joins a StabiliTrak control system integrated with hill start assist as well as intelligent brake assist. As part of GMC's Sierra HD family, the 2011 Sierra 3500HD is covered by a five-year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty.
