The 2011 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class is a full size seven passenger luxury SUV available in GL350 BlueTEC, GL450, and GL550 trim levels. The 4WD GL350 BlueTEC is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine producing 210 hp. Equipped with a 7-speed automatic transmission the GL350 BlueTEC achieves 17 mpg city and 24 mpg highway. The GL450 and GL550 trims are available with 4.6-liter/5.5-liter V8 engines that produce 335/382 hp. Both trims come with 4-wheel Electronic Traction System and 7-speed automatic transmission. The GL450 gets an EPA estimated 13 mpg city and 18 mpg highway while the GL550 gets a comparable 12 mpg city and 17 mg highway. Options include blind spot assist, illumination kit, rear seat entertainment system, and heated multi-function steering wheel. Electronic stability program, brake assist, antilock brake system, rearview camera, and 13-way airbag protection comprise safety features. The GL-Class is covered by the Mercedes-Benz New Vehicle Warranty that covers all defects in material or workmanship for 2 years/50,000 miles.
