Starting with the two-seat regular cab model, up to 6-passenger accommodation is available with extended and four-door crew cab versions of the 2012 Colorado. Common standard features found on all Chevrolet Colorado configurations for 2012 include air conditioning, cruise control and OnStar. Power for the 2012 Chevrolet Colorado comes from a selection of three Vortec engines each offered in front-wheel or four-wheel drive options. Base power for all Chevrolet Colorado regular and extended cab trucks originates from a 2.9 liter inline-4 engine generating 185 horsepower. The next available Vortec engine is a five-cylinder 3.7 liter power plant. Producing 242 horsepower, this engine comes standard on the 2012 Chevrolet Colorado four-wheel drive crew cab. There is also a 300 horsepower, 5.3 liter V-8 engine offering towing capacity up to 6,000 pounds. Five-speed manual and four-speed automatic transmission choices are available on the 2012 Chevrolet Colorado pickup.
