The 2012 Hyundai Tucson is a compact crossover SUV available with FWD and AWD drivetrains. The standard Tucson is powered with a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 165 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a standard 5-speed manual transmission (an optional 6-speed automatic transmission is also available) the Tucson achieves an EPA estimated 20 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. Upgrading to the GLS or LIMITED trim level grants the driver an upgraded 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that yields 176 hp and 168 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission fuel mileage falls within an EPA estimated range of 21 mpg city to 32 mpg highway, depending on drivetrain selection. Features include panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, touch-screen navigation system, rearview camera, hands-free phone system, and auxiliary input jacks. Safety is comprised of electronic stability control, traction control system, anti-lock braking, electronic brake force distribution, brake assist, tire pressure monitoring, advanced dual front airbags, side impact airbags, and side-curtain airbags.
