2012 Toyota Prius c Overview

A compact variant of the Prius, the 2012 Toyota Prius c (the c stands for city) is a hybrid hatchback powered by a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine (73 hp/82 lb.-ft of torque) and a permanent magnet AC synchronous motor (60 hp/125 lb.-ft of torque). An electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (ECVT) paired with FWD enables the Prius c is achieve an EPA estimated 53 mpg city and 46 mpg highway, for a combined 50 mpg. Features include power tilt/slide moonroof, 16-in wheels, automatic climate control, Bluetooth? hands-free phone capabilities, USB with iPod? connectivity, push button start, and display audio with navigation. Safety is comprised of vehicle stability control (VSC), anti-lock brake system (ABS), Traction Control (TRAC), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Smart Stop Technology (SST), and nine airbags. The Prius c is backed by a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty.
