2018 Ford Police Responder Hybrid: New York Auto Show - Video

author photo by Doug DeMuro April 2017

We're on the floor of the New York Auto Show today, checking out the 2018 Ford Police Responder Hybrid. You've heard of the Ford Police Interceptor, which is a police car based on the Ford Taurus. Well, this is its baby brother, the Police Responder. Apparently it's designed to respond rather than intercept.

Based on the Ford Fusion Hybrid, the Police Responder is aimed at urban police departments in big cities. It returns an average of 38 miles per gallon, which is projected to save police departments around $4,000 annually. It also has a ton of cool features, which you can see in our video.

The 2018 Ford Police Responder Hybrid goes on sale to police departments next year, starting with the LAPD.
