This is my second VW purchase from Patrick VW in Auburn. I have worked with Dan on both purchases. He is very customer-oriented and will go the extra mile to meet your needs. I also worked with Matt Newhouse (simulataneously) as they teamed up to help with my last purchase. Matt is also very attentive and really did his research to get us in a car the suited our needs. I would highly recommend!

I must say Dan Heckman, and the Management team at Patrick Motors provided me exceptional service. Dan Heckman went above, and beyond to ensure all of my expectations were met. This has truly been the BEST car buying experience yet. It was such an easy process, I told Dan what I was looking for, and he was able to find me a Tiguan that gave me all of the options I needed while keeping me within my budget. After a horrible experience at a local Nissan dealer, Aaron Tringuk was able to see my desperation in getting me out of my old vehicle. He was able to show me figures, that I was more than satisfied with. In all my new vehicle purchases this was by far the easiest. I was finally able to leave a dealership feeling like I got a great deal, without the back, and forth I was put through from other dealers. I will recommend Dan Heckman, and the Patrick Motors Family to everyone I know. A big thanks to everyone there who helped me.

May 2013 - We were sold a Volkswagen Certified 2010 Tiguan, vin number WVGBV7AXXAW514544. At the time of sale, we were given a CarFax report showing a clean vehicle. Started having problems immediately. The bluetooth did not work properly and no one could hear us when talking. In three times to repair and still did not work after they replaced it. The passenger side rear door did not close properly and needed to be replaced. Never truly closed easily. Brought the vehicle in for a recall repair to replace a fuse. Replacement was supposed to take 30 minutes. After more than an hour, we were told that the fuse had caused a fire in the engine, the car would need to stay a few days, and major repairs were needed. Later, we were told that there was no fire and that they had no idea why the service department told us that. The last straw was when my wife was stranded by the side of the road because the car burned so much oil, the engine light came on and warned "Stop Car Immediately". We were told by the service department that the car had burned more than 40% of the oil, but that was normal and we should check the oil at EVERY GAS FILL UP! In discussions with the service manager and being rather upset by the circumstance, I was told that I should not be taking this personally. How can you not take it personally when you spend all that money on a car only to your wife stranded by the side of the road! All totaled, we had the car for 10 months and it was in the shop 10 times - have all the service receipts to prove it. Feb 2014 - We finally had enough and went to another dealership to trade it in. Before beginning negotiations, the salesman showed us an "Auto Check" report on the car. Apparently the car had been in an accident and received damage to all four sides. Infuriated, we went to Patrick where after a day and a half of wrangling, it was clear that we did not have a lot of options. Apparently CarFax claims no liability for any information they don't know about, so their buy back guarantee was useless. We had to listen to Patrick's sob story about how they did not know about the accident and that they were going to have to get rid of the car because it had no value (imagine, after everything we had been through with this vehicle in the 10 months we had it including some of the WORST customer service you can imagine, US having to listen to THEM complain about losing money!) Against our better judgment, we finally agreed to be swapped into a Volkswagen Certified 2011 Tiguan. Within one week of owning this "new" car, it was in to Patrick to replace the fuel pump because the vehicle would stall every time it was put into reverse. To top it all off and after listening to how they were going to take a loss on the 2010 Tiguan, we just noticed that Patrick has put the vehicle - vin number WVGBV7AXXAW514544 - back on their lot for sale as a Volkswagen Certified vehicle.. The only reason "Friendliness" is not rated as Very Bad is because there was a young girl who we dealt with who is one of their service techs who did everything she possibly could to accommodate us. I wish I could remember her name to give her credit.

I left you a VM a few minutes ago. I certainly understand your frustration with the old vehicle. I thought based on your decision to purchase the 2011 Tiguan that we had resolved this situation and addressed all of your concerns? As an owner and someone that takes great pride in making sure each customer is individually tended to I am disappointed to see your not satisfied at this point in time. As soon as I was made aware of your situation I personally took the time to make sure it got resolved the right way. I went for the road test with you that Saturday afternoon and we identified the rattle together. I calculated the numbers so we could get you a year newer vehicle and keep the pymt the same w nothing out of your pocket. As far as the Carfax, like we mentioned the accident didn't show up on the history until almost a year afterward because of the insurance companies slow reporting. I feel that my job is not done until I satisfy you the customer. Once we consummated the new deal I was under the impression that you both were satisfied. I do apologize it did not get resolved sooner and that your wife and family were in a compromising situation. I can't reiterate enough to you how sorry I am that Tracy had to wait on the side of the road for assistance. It's important to me to make sure you the customer are 100% satisfied. I can't improve my service if I don't know whats wrong.I did speak with Tracy when your 2011 got flat bedded in here and assured her we would get the vehicle right into the shop. As soon as it came off the tow truck the vehicle started right up. No codes came up and nothing was wrong with the vehicle. In summary you drove a 2010 vehicle w/ 45000 mile at time of purchase and drove it for 15000 miles and 9 months. Within 2 days of getting involved with your challenging situation I proceeded to trade you into a 2011 model w/ the same or more equipment and only 29000 miles for the same payment.
