First let me qualify myself by saying that I spent 3 months on and off car shopping for the right car at the right price. My family was expanding and so I thought a Highlander would bet he perfect fit for the baby's gear and a great vehicle to keep my family secure. I've been to Al Hendrickson Toyota and their cramped offices, and back and forth with sales associates and managers was just too much. They give a fair value on trades but the experience there is one to forget. Not enough emphasis on the customer's buying experience. I've been to Earl Stewart which is a 1 hour drive for me, only to find that a car they confirmed was on the lot was sold the previous day. Something they could have confirmed with me on the phone by just checking the lot and saving me the drive, but they didn't. They also undervalued my trade compared to other dealers. My experience was with incompetent staff, and because of their "1price" no negotiations meant no deal. I've been to Toyota Deerfield of where the charged astronomical prices and almost didn't budge at all. Later I found out from some of my friends in the car business that they don't do much volume, so they must charge higher prices. AutoNation Toyota has cramped offices and un-interested sales staff. The under value trades compared to CarMax even after several rounds of negotiations and don't budge much on their car prices. I won't be going back here anytime soon, and it's a shame because they do have a large selection of cars. I've dealt with Ed Morse Toyota, and I will say that their sales associates and sales managers were much more friendly and financially closer to fair market value for my trade and their cars. We couldn't work a deal out, but I would still recommend them. Finally, Royal Palm Toyota, the best place to buy a Toyota for two reasons: The give a great value on trade in vehicles compared to CarMax, and they are more willing to negotiate on their cars likely due to the volume that they can move. I think this is fair to say of most Penske dealers. Secondly, the customer service is second to none in the other dealers I've visited. I HATE the back and forth with sales and managers, and where was readying myself like Rocky to go 16 rounds to win this battle, only two rounds of negotiations were needed. I was frank with where I wanted to be, and Royal Palm was able to meet me where I wanted with as little bargaining as any of the above dealers. What a delight and rarity in the car business. Hugh was my sales manager, and man he is a first class professional to deal with. I came in late around 8pm one night when they were ready to close, and he stayed all the way till almost mid night when all the paper work was signed and made sure I was completely satisfied with my purchase and experience. Let me tell you, compared to other sales managers who make it very much about numbers and why we can't give you this deal or why we can't lower the price, Hugh understands customer service and the customer's perception of how someone in his position reflects on the organization as a whole. We're all busy people and I know I'm not alone when I say I hate buying cars, but Hugh really defies expectations and is an asset to Royal Palm and Penske. Thanks Hugh! You helped me with my 2015 Highlander deal a late night in January. I will be coming back to you in the future. I also want to thank Gio who was my sales associate, Tamara the internet sales lead who prompted me as soon as the vehicle I was looking for was available, and Brenda for putting up with my incessant visits and test drives. Penske please hire more people like Hugh and this staff. And other dealers if you're reading this, please visit Royal Palm Toyota so you can understand the difference that an emphasis on a customer's experience can have on a car purchase.
