I keep a car for years, so when my old reliable vehicle finally needed to be replaced, I started my search at Phillips. My sales associate, James Major, told me he hoped my search would begin and end there and it did. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. My name is Kurtis Vander Woude and I am a proud owner of a brand new Victory red 2014 silverado Z71. My experience at Phillips Chevrolet of Lansing was one of the best car buying experiences that not only have I gone through but it was better than anyone else's I have ever heard of as well. My experience started on Memorial Day (May 26) of this year. I initially called Phillips of Lansing and spoke with the ever-so nice and polite Cristina Delvecchio to check out a truck they had on the lot. Since I am a Lansing, IL resident and live just down the road, I told her I would be there in 20 minutes to check out the truck, she said that would be fine and that she'll have it out front for me when I arrive. Not only was the truck parked right outside the front entrance but sales consultant Julian Dean was waiting to greet me with a very detailed and informative test drive, after which I was ready to buy this wonderful truck. I am proud to say that with the help of Sales manager Walter Fields, Julian and I worked out a deal I couldn't refuse and BOOM! I was on my way to driving the perfect truck! The deals didn't stop there!!! Six months later, to my dismay, I found that the tuck I bought wasn't equiped to pull the family trailer I needed to tow. I thought I was going to have to sacrifice the great deal bestowed on me and get stuck paying a huge payment, now, on another more capable truck just because of small print I had over looked. I was wrong. On Nov. 12. I brought this problem to the attention of COMMERCIAL TRUCK MANAGER & SALES CONSULTANT Philip Derkacy. There aren't enough kind words I can say about Phil, from the moment I sat down he reassured me that he would do everything in his power to make this right for me. That Wednesday not only did Phil work with sales managers Walter Fields and Mark Catuara to get me in a new truck, he even gave up time with his son whom he was supposed to have a 16th birthday dinner with (he told me his wife pushed it to the weekend but I knew he was just being nice) and even after pleading with him that no truck is worth losing time with his son, he just kept saying how important my satisfaction was. That act of sacrifice will be something I will never forget. Even after all the help the team was giving me the numbers just didn't add up that day and I just couldn't bring myself to sign, but low and behold the next day both Phil and General sales Manager Mark both called to say they were still trying to reach my price. By Saturday we came to an agreement and I was ready for a Monday signing. However over the weekend some bills came to my attention that would prevent me from making the slightly higher payment. But my satisfaction level jumped up again after General Sales Manager Mark came through once again, and found me yet another lower price I could work with. On Monday Nov. 17 once again Phil's dedication astounded me and he actually spent half the day driving to get me in my truck by the end of the day. More thanks goes out to Henry King in aftermarket sales for all his help and also to Dennis Miller who helped me complete my paper work on the new truck even though I'm pretty sure he didn't get credit for the sale or however that works. So a message to Curtis Pascarella and dealer Mike Maheras, I am truly astounded by the exemplary dedication your employees have shown to the selling of your Chevrolet line. Dependable and trustworthy employees such as these should be held in highest regard, and I want you to know that their knowledgeable, kind, honest, and most genuine sacrifices have made me a life long customer. And to all involved with the sale of my truck, I can not thank you enough. Thank you all so much, Kurtis VanderWoude Phillips Chevrolet all the way!!!!!
