Who Helped Me:Miguel Mendoza
Similar to the last review, we, too left without a vehicle after spending four hours in the dealership. But what makes our situation worse is that we got to the last piece of paper of signing with the business center before we realized Grossinger's mistake. My husband saw a used Lexus advertised for $33K on the internet, and after test driving it, we wanted to buy it. However - our salesman's (Miguel) first offer was $41K. Imagine our surprise that his offer was $8K more than the internet had. It wasn't until I produced the internet page verifying the VIN number that Miguel (and manager) changed the offer. In the 2nd offer, the price was $33K, but that price then had destination charge ($995) added to the total price that included taxes and title. There should not be a destination charge for a used car - and even if there is - why wasn't it on the 1st offer? All of these things should have been "red flags" to us. We then countered with $31.5K (+ $500 trade-in) and we would do a down payment of $8K. Miguel went back to his manager (Tremaine) and came back and told us that it was accepted. An hour later we started the paperwork in the Financial dept. Thirty minutes after that - we charged money on our credit card, wrote a check and signed about 15 forms. As I was looking at one of the very last forms, I noticed that one of the lines had 33K on it. We pointed it out and Miguel and then eventually Tremaine came down. According to Tremaine, he thought the $31.5K offer was AFTER our $8K down payment (thereby making our total price $39.5K). Why in the world would Tremaine think that? The total price of the car was $33K. That was what we were negotiating on - the total price of the car. Did he not think we could do simple math? Tremaine would not budge on the price of the car, so we told them we wanted to cancel everything. So - at that point, we were only out the four hours of our time and the frustration of dealing with Tremaine. However, the Financial Department at Grossinger did not reverse / cancel everything - as they said they would. Five days later, they still had not refunded our $2K on our credit card, so we alerted our credit card company and even now (five weeks later), the credit card company is still in dispute with Grossinger. Add to that frustration - when we went to a real car dealership (Lexus McGrath) and bought a different car, we found out that Grossinger never reversed the license plate transfer transaction. So we couldn't transfer the old license plate and instead had to buy new ones. Just another negative effect from our dealings with Grossinger. After that experience at Grossinger, my husband's opinion of Toyota was completely soured. I truly believe that Miguel communicated properly to Tremaine. It's not hard to communicate $31.5K to a manager. I just think that Tremaine thought if he puts all these numbers on a form and acts like we're getting such a deal, that we would go ahead with everything. Between his shadiness and the ineptness of the Financial department, I would recommend going elsewhere to buy a car.

Who Helped Me:Abdul Onisemoh
We came to view a used Prius C with lots of options and priced nicely. We also were willing to view other used vehicles, but only a Prius. They had 1 used Prius despite the fact their website listed 4 and the sales person I spoke to earlier in the day stated they had more than that as well. And the 1 used Prius they did have? Priced at $35k. Yikes. When we connected with a sales agent, they first showed us new Prius vehicles despite our request to see used (although we are willing to consider new, but want to view used first). When we asked about the Prius C, which was emailed to us about 2 hours prior to arrival, we were told it was sold and that the online inventory takes up to 72 hrs to update. But the sales agent went to look for it. Some time later we were told he found 1 key, but still couldn't find the car--"we have lots of vehicles" he said... "maybe it's a rental" he said... "maybe it's a loaner through our service department" he said. I felt like we were being bait and switched. And when we come to a car dealership to purchase a vehicle, I expect some options. We had none. We left empty handed, without a vehicle. Further, I eventually purchased a 2013 Toyota Prius III elsewhere and was told by Grossinger that I could not extend the Toyota Care to Toyota Care Plus, even though the Toyota Care was still active. However, when I tweeted Toyota the company responded directly to me and told me I could extend it to Toyota Care Plus. Moral of the story? We purchased elsewhere and will not be bringing our new-to-us Prius here for service.

Who Helped Me:Brad Gordon Sales Manager
I purchased a used car from Brad Gordon the Sales Manager of Grossinger City North Autoplex. I sat down with Arun and Bradthem from that point forward Brad Gordon began to lie, manipulate and deceive me just to close a sale. He didn't budge on the price at all saying that he priced it the lowest within 200 miles so that's why he refused to lower the price of the car. I told him that I had my own financing, however he insisted that I try financing for through his finance manager stating how great he was. He told me before we closed the deal that he would replace 2 pieces that were replacing parts in the car and in addition 2 keys and gas was promised. Upon picking up the car I noticed that Brad Gordon did not follow-up on his written and verbal promises. Since it was after 7:00 pm no one was able to make a decision or help. I called Brad Gordon on 3/20/2014 @ 930 to convey my disappointments. As I listed them ie. Missing key, small part not installed, below E on gas tank. As promised he stated that the parts was ordered however the wrong small part was ordered. He degenerated me by saying that the part by saying its only .69 so if that all it is we can get that. I asked about the gas that he promised to put in the car never was. He says "Khandice we don't put gas in used cars" . He began to get frustrated and started loud talking me, in addition to he started talking over me. Then his next statement was "Listen I can rip up the paperwork and we can end this now" I felt threatened. I asked him if he was threatening me over his incompetency. What was promised he did not deliver and left me with as a disgruntled customer. I would never recommend anyone to subject themselves to such a horrible experience. Brad Gordon should be evaluated when it comes to his manipulitive and decietful selling practices.

Who Helped Me:abdul, brad, patrick
I have purchased cars from this particular car dealer, and I have never had a bad experience before. Abdul was very pushy and quick to rush, did not talk numbers with us, sent us straight up to finance, where we dealt with patrick, mind you patrick was rude and pushy as well. Not helpful at all. Abdul brad and patrick and three of the biggest liars! I would never return to this car dealer, not even for service. They tried to fool me and make me pay $10,000 more then what the car was already worth!they did additional paper work that I never agreed to doing.the better business Bureau will be notified and a corporate letter will be written as well. I ended up purchasing my car else were and got if fully loaded for less then what they were charging me! Explore your options people. Do not purchase from these scam artists.

Who Helped Me:Arnold Muse
I brought my car in for a front end servicing. I worked primarily with Arnold. He is a great fellow, courteous, personable and friendly. The issue I have with this service department is that I had to bring my car back three times to get the problem fixed. Because the dealership is not located conveniently to a freeway or Interstate, they had trouble test driving my car. I guess they didn't want to take a mechanic out of the garage where they're busy cranking out routine services. On the second trip in, I had to take an afternoon off of work to test drive the car with a mechanic. Over the course of two weeks and three trips back to the dealership, well over a half of a tank of gas was wasted and the time getting back and forth to the dealership was not worth the trouble. I like the staff at Grossinger but I don't have the time or extra $$$ to help them figure out what is wrong with my car. I would expect the Chevrolet dealership/service department would be better prepared to fix it right the first time.
