Bought used car and realized cruise control not working on the way home from dealer. Went straight back and informed dealer of problem. Dealer refused to repair since I had not purchased extended warrantee for $2k. Is the dealer legally obligated, no they are not. However, this is the way you will be treated at Smicklas Chevrolet once they have your money. This is a great example of why car dealers are pretty much the lowest form of life. Do not buy a used car from Smicklas unless you have the car checked out completely by mechanic. Do not assume "good faith " on their part.

The check engine light came on in my 2010 Terrain and I took it Smicklas to have it serviced. I told them about the light and explained that my vehicle would kind of stagnate when I'd press on the gas. I was told it was my fuel pump and that the repair was covered by a warranty. The fuel pump was replaced but the problem continued and the check engine light came back on. I called the service center and was told I needed to schedule another appointment. I scheduled the appointment for 9:30 in the morning. They had my vehicle all day long and did not look at it. I called and was transferred several times and hung up on before I was finally told they didn't get to look at it. I'm not sure what the purpose of the appointment was. I was then asked to schedule ANOTHER appointment. Unfortunately I never made it to that appointment. The morning of, my Terrain completely stopped on the highway in the middle of rush hour traffic. It was pouring rain outside. As you can imagine the situation resulted in a wreck and my vehicle totaled. So NO, I will NEVER purchase a vehicle from Smicklas Chevrolet or take it to be serviced there. This company was extremely negligent in their duty to repair my vehicle and it is this reason that resulted in my totaled vehicle.

Where do I start. We visited the Smicklas on Saturday Dec 14, 2013 and had an alright experience. Was inquiring about a new 2014 Chevy High Country 4x4 White Diamond in color. I was told that the only colors they had were black and brown. I was really trying to purchase a vehicle that day so felt I should do some checking around. Alvin told me that he could have a White Diamond High Country to me by Friday Dec 20 but wanted to get one that day if at all possible. Went looking but didn't find anything so I went back to Smicklas after work on Monday Dec 16, 2013. We made a deal, signed the paper work, wrote a check for half of the money we agreed upon and I drove home in a loaner truck. The next morning Dec 17 2013, I received a phone call from Alvin informing me that they were looking but had not located me the truck I had purchased which I was fine with. Wed Dec 18, 2013 I just so happened to look on the Bob Howard web site just to see if they had received the truck that I was looking for. There just so happened to have three of the vary trucks that I was looking for. I called Bob Howard and spoke with a salesman and found out that yes indeed they had at least one so I told him I would be up after work to look at it. I call Alvin and let me know that I had spoken with a sales person from Bob Howard and found out they had the truck that I was looking for. He said that the one they had was equipped with a bigger engine than the one we made the deal on at Smicklas. I told him the salesman said that it was the 5.3 and not the 6.2. He sad well my general manager couldn't find it. He said well I'm not sure how much patience you have on waiting on a truck and I said that I was not willing to wait two weeks to purchase a truck. After I said that he says, well do u just want to cancel the deal now then. I said no, I want a truck.I told him I was going up to Bob Howard and see for my self and I would let me know what I found out. The salesman at Bob Howard had the truck gased up and ready for me to test drive when I arrived. By this time I'm blowing a cork and very frustrated with Smicklas and Alvin. They had under sold the truck to me and were trying to wiggle out of the deal. He had called but I was working with the salesman and general manager trying to figure out what was going on. After making a deal and shaking hands with the GM of Bob Howard, I called Alvin back and proceeded to share my thought with him about how I was done wrong and that they were all a bunch of lyers and cheaters and that I didn't appreciate how I was treated, Alvin just hung up on me. I called and left a message for the GM to please give me a call and as of 10pm on Dec 19, have not heard a word from him no Alvin with an explanation of what they were trying to pull. I would not recommend this SMICKLAS TO ANYONE!!!!!!!! What has this world come to when a mans word and a hand shake mean absolutely nothing. Just getting into the pockets of hard working honest people seems to be their agenda. Oh, by the way, I was paying with good ol AMERICAN hard earned CASH!!!!!! Their loss. Thank you Bob Howard for standing up and doing the right thing. Something your coworkers at Smicklas should try to do. They could take a few lesions from the Team at BOB HOWARD IN EDMOND!!!!!!

My boyfriend and I drove to the dealership after getting off work. We found the vehichle and agreed on a price, was very satisfied with that. We told them that we would get with the banker the next day and that we were very interested! We got a deal worked up and written on paper and was willing to leave a deposit. The dealership said that they would hold it for us. So next day we talked to the banker he said all was good. So we then called the dealership to hear that they had sold the truck. Talk about we will NEVER GO BACK!!! We are very upset about this, you just dont do that if you want to keep customers coming back. So i tried calling to speak to a manager and it was 4 hours before he returned my phone call. I will not go back and i will not recommened any family and friends to go there. You dont say you will do something then pull something like that. IM VERY PISSED!!!!!!!!!

Who Helped Me:Buck Barton GM
purchased a 2013 Equinox last month. I was lied to about the specs of the vehicle and their ability to install navigation in that vehicle. I was told they would be ordering a new GM head unit to install navigation but when I dropped the car off 6 days later they informed me that “some guy” would be installing a chip in the vehicle. I called Chevy to find out if that was the proper way to install Navi in my car and they informed me that my car can NEVER have navigation unless it was installed at the factory. They said anything put in the car would void the head unit and could have unknown consequences. They told me to NOT let them install that chip because it would be unserviceable at any other dealership in the country. I spoke with the general manager regarding this and he was rude and uncaring about trying to resolve the issue. I spent well over a month without a new car while I attempted to get this issue resolved. I spoke to Group One automotive which owns the dealership and they were even less help in this situation. Yesterday I finally was placed into an acceptable replacement model with the specs I agreed to purchase in the first vehicle. However I had to fight with the GM for days because he refused to add in the value of my trade-in into the deal. I had over $2000 positive equity in my trade-in. They are crooks and jerks to work with to get anything resolved. I offered the option of an even swap a month ago and was told they would not do it. They wanted me to pay MORE money for a higher model vehicle I should have been sold in the first place had they not LIED. The ONLY thing they cared about is their bottom line and will lie, cheat and steal to protect it. Beware of this dealership! They only care about $$$ and will do WHATEVER it takes to get it.
