Ouch. Called on a pre-owned GT4 priced +$20k above the new car MSRP/Sticker and the sales person's comment (with an elevated and confrontational tone) was, in summary; "the reason this is one of the highest price GT4's in the nation is the fact YOU cannot find one anywhere. Can YOU find one?". In response to his aggressive tone and in complete shock I informed him there was one out of state, providing him the exact dealer information and details, but told the salesperson I prefer to stay within Ohio where I am moving and will live. In response he said; "YOU should buy the GT4 from THEM, then, end of discussion". Seriously??? In my opinion, this does not demonstrate a commitment to customer service and despite attempt to be kind and respectful, I received what I perceive to be an unbelievably rude attitude. I was excited to give Byers Imports a chance as I am a Buckeye at heart and thought they would be easy to work with - my perception was completely misguided. I will not post the salespersons name but also will never set foot in this dealership. WOW...

Ran my own credit before car search began. Looked at offers from different dealerships, decided on a Volkswagen. Byers Volkswagen said my credit score was 72 points lower than every other dealer and my own records. Byers told me I me that my monthly payments would be higher because my credit scores put me in a less favorable bracket or I would have to put down a larger down payment. When I contacted a couple of Consumer Credit Action groups to try to understand how my credit score could have dropped 72 points over a couple of days, I was informed it had not. Presenting consumers with lower credit scores is a common practice used by untrustworthy car salesmen and dealerships in order to sell cars for more money.

Who Helped Me:Larry (horrible) and Jeff (great)
Drove 2 1/2 hours to buy a 2013 used A6 at Byers Imports/Audi of Columbus after communicating with Larry on the phone and via email several times. The car was the right color and had the right miles so we were willing to make the drive. I was told the car was in great condition, Larry may have even used the word immaculate. There was some damage on the front bumper found during CPO inspection so the car was sent out for repairs. After waiting more than a week I was told that the car was repaired and being detailed and would be back at dealership that afternoon. I took a half day off work the next day and drove their only to find the car was not there. This after I had to ask someone for help. Larry was not there and Jeff helped me and poor Jeff did not know what he was getting into. Not only was the car not there, but it was never detailed. My wife and I were very disappointed. We had to wait two hours for the car to be cleaned inside and out before we made a decision on the car. We also had to have the inside cleaned again. I was disappointed to find two big door dings and other scratches in the paint. And Larry said it was very clean and in great condition? How could he miss these flaws? Oh yeah, the car was never washed so how would he know. My wife and I were there for almost six hours. Once everything was worked out things went smoothly through finance and Jeff showing us the car features. We then had a 2 /12 hour drive home much later than expected. Once back, I expected to hear from Larry that there was some mix-up where the car was at and/or apologize for the car not being ready but a week went by and no calls or even emails. That tells me how Larry operates and that the dealership tolerates it. If I were Jeff I would go work for another Audi dealer. I own another Audi and am an Audi club of North America member and I will make sure others know not to use Larry or Byers again.

After returning my A6 and complaining I still have not heard back other than through the review forums! I was told that Mike Garas would be contacting me. This still has not happened 5 months later! Why are you hiding Mike?

Who Helped Me:JT Masters
**UPDATE** I took my car in for my 20,000 mile oil change and inspection today. 20,000 miles later and I STILL don't have the wheels I was promised as a condition to purchasing my car. I asked to speak with the sales manager so I could follow up while I'm there. He was out of the office, so I was referred to JT Masters who, coincidentally, is the one who originally sold me my car and didn't deliver on the promise of alternate wheels being put on my car. When I asked about the status of my wheels, he said they won't even be attempting to take care of the issue anymore and "are done with it". I said it would've been nice for someone to clue me in on that, and his response was that bc I left a negative review on FB, they aren't interested in working anything out with me further. So rather than trying to rectify the situation, that way I can change my review to a more positive one, Byers admittedly will not be following through on anything BECAUSE I left an honest review of my experience. The cherry on top was my car not being washed after the oil change and inspection, with the explanation of the car wash breaking an hour ago... as I watched both a Porsche and a Subaru come out of said "broken" car wash looking shiny and clean. August 2015: If I could rate Byer's a 0, I would. Bought my BRAND NEW, loaded beetle convertible from JT Masters in Oct 2014. Since then I have had nothing but problems. My car was purchased on the condition that I was receiving a new set of rims (who puts faux chrome, plastic hubcaps on a $33,000 car?!), but almost 12 months later I still don't have anything. It takes several emails and phone calls just to have someone get back to me, and nothing but excuses from everyone I've spoken with when you do finally get someone on the phone. Problems with my brakes started a few days after driving my NEW car off the lot. Was told by Bruce in the Service Dept, who lacked any bit of customer service whatsoever, that my issue was "normal wear and tear" and not covered under warranty, despite having never even laid eyes on my car. Brand new also means no wear or tear has occurred yet, obviously. Issues with my auto convertible top not going up and down properly before 10,000 miles. Fought to get it into service for my brakes and top and fought to get a loaner car that didn't cost me $20 per day. Two days later they say they couldn't find an issue with either, so I ask for the manager above to call me back. Less than 5 minutes later I receive a voicemail, not from upper management like I asked, telling me they found the issue and will call me when it's ready. Go figure. Pick up my car, neither the brake issue, nor auto top issue had been rectified, but management was gone for the day so tough luck. Considering the hours worth of phone calls it took me to even get it into service, I gave up. A few weeks ago my AC stopped working correctly, consistently blowing really warm air for several minutes at a time on and off regularly. This morning my start button pricked my finger to the point of drawing enough blood to require changing bandaids 3 times in 35 minutes. It appears that the sticker on the button is peeling off, causing a sharp spot. Less than a year later with under 14,000 miles and I have problems with my brakes, auto top, AC, and start button, STILL don't have new rims, and have logged no less than 10 hours on the phone with them. I could not regret this purchase any more if I tried. Byer's is a nightmare of unfulfilled promises, absolutely terrible customer service, and far less than thorough management. Save yourself the headache and go to MAG.
