Luxury SUV Deals: March 2012
With so many high-quality entries competing for your attention, the luxury SUV segment is one of the most hotly contested in the entire automobile industry. As a result, it should come as no surprise that most upscale automakers advertise great deals to help give buyers an extra reason to consider their vehicles. After searching through many special offers available in March, we've listed our top picks for consumers looking for an upscale SUV at a great price.
The turbocharged Acura RDX will soon be redesigned, meaning there are some great deals available on the outgoing model for consumers who don't need the latest and greatest. For qualified buyers looking to finance an RDX, Acura is offering interest rates as low as 0.9 percent for up to 36 months - a stellar deal for the SUV, which starts around $33,500 including destination. Shoppers more interested in leasing can also find attractive offers on the SUV, including monthly payments as low as $349 per month with $1,999 down or $410 per month with an impressive $0 due at lease signing.
BMW's sporty X5 is one of the most popular luxury SUVs on the market - and with good reason. In addition to featuring car-like handling and impressive acceleration, the X5 offers a long list of luxurious standard features including dual-zone automatic climate control, HD radio, Bluetooth, all-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission. Through the end of March, it's also available with several attractive offers including 1.9 percent interest rates for up to 36 months and lease payments starting at just $569 per month with $4,294 due at signing. Our pick, however, is the diesel-powered X5 xDrive35d, which offers a monstrous 425 pound-feet of torque and up to 26 miles per gallon for just $639 per month after $3,614 at signing.
Cadillac is advertising two impressive special offers on its handsome 2012 SRX through the end of April. According to the automaker, qualified buyers looking to finance an SRX can get interest rates as low as 0.9 percent for up to 36 months - a great deal not often seen on upscale crossovers. Consumers who would prefer to lease can also find a remarkable offer on the SRX, with monthly payments as low as $435 after just $1,999 at signing. Although that strikes us as a very enticing deal, the fine print indicates the 36-month lease offers just 10,000 miles per year - a non-issue for some drivers, but a dealbreaker for most consumers who will find a higher monthly payment accompanies increased annual mileage.
The imposing Lincoln Navigator is available with several impressive offers in March. For cash buyers, Lincoln is offering up to $3,000 back on all 2012 models, or up to $5,000 back on all remaining 2011 inventory. Consumers looking to finance can qualify for zero percent interest rates for up to 60 months on all 2012 Navigators or zero percent plus $2,000 cash back on any remaining 2011 models. Finally, shoppers looking to lease a Navigator will also find a great deal, as Lincoln is also offering payments as low as $649 per month for 36 months with $3,424 due at signing on all 2012 models. While the Navigator may seem expensive at first glance, Lincoln's long list of special offers makes the SUV available to a much wider range of customers than its base price of nearly $59,000 might suggest.
Volvo's handsome XC60 remains one of our favorite upscale crossovers. In addition to luxurious appointments and two powerful engines, the SUV impresses us with its long list of standard safety features that extends well beyond airbags and traction control to include CitySafe, an automatic braking system that can stop the crossover in the event of an impending collision. While we think the XC60's $34,000 base price is already reasonable, it's an even better deal throughout March thanks to 2.9 percent interest rates for up to 72 months and lease payments as low as $399 per month with $3,294 due at signing. For shoppers who need something larger, Volvo is also offering 2.9 percent interest for up to 72 months on its midsize XC90 crossover along with lease rates as low as $469 per month with $2,963 due at signing.
What it means to you: Thanks to a competitive market, incentives and special offers are making SUVs increasingly more affordable to the average consumer.
