Minivan Deals: September 2012
While it's hard to choose the right minivan, our latest list makes it easier to find the best deal. We've rounded up September minivan deals from several manufacturers, arming buyers with all the information necessary to get a great deal on a new van this month.
Chrysler Town & Country
Through the end of September, Chrysler is advertising its popular Town & Country minivan with interest rates as low as zero percent for up to 72 months--an offer that's virtually unmatched among rivals. For shoppers who prefer to lease the minivan, Chrysler is touting payments of just $299 per month for 39 months after $2,999 at signing on the luxurious Touring trim level, which includes a rear DVD player, a backup camera and a power liftgate. The automaker is also offering up to $2,250 back for cash buyers who purchase the van, regardless of which trim level they choose.
Honda is offering several deals on its popular Odyssey minivan through the end of September. According to the automaker, shoppers interested in leasing a base-level Odyssey LX can do so for 36 months with payments of just $259 after $1,999 due at signing. Lease customers who would prefer to put nothing down will also get a good deal, as Honda is touting zero-down lease deals with monthly payments of just $310 on the Odyssey LX. Honda also has incentives for shoppers looking to finance an Odyssey, with the automaker offering 0.9 percent interest to qualified shoppers for up to 60 months.
The Kia Sedona is unlikely to see the 2013 model year, which means that there are many great deals available on remaining 2012 models. Kia's strongest offer is a $2,500 cash-back incentive for buyers paying in full, which applies to both of the minivan's trim levels. The automaker is also advertising a rare combined incentive, touting 1.9 percent interest for up to 36 months plus up to $2,500 back for qualified buyers interested in financing the minivan. Finally, Kia is offering up to $1,500 loyalty cash for buyers trading in another Kia, or the same amount for shoppers trading in a minivan from a competitive brand.
Toyota is offering several attractive incentives on its Sienna minivan this month. The best deal is for buyers looking to finance the Sienna, as Toyota is offering zero percent interest for up to 48 months or 0.9 percent interest for up to 60 months on all 2012 models. For shoppers interested in leasing the van, Toyota is also offering monthly payments as low as $279 for 36 months after $2,999 down, which makes the van highly competitive with rivals. Toyota is offering up to $1,000 cash back on all versions of the 2012 Sienna for buyers paying in full--a relatively small number but a rare rebate among Toyota's models.
Volkswagen's spacious Routan minivan is mechanically identical to the Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country. Like those vans, the Routan is available with several good deals throughout September, including interest rates as low as zero percent for up to 72 months. Volkswagen is also offering an attractive lease deal of just $249 per month for 36 months after $2,999 at signing on its base-level Routan S. While that model doesn't include many luxury features, it has all the family car basics, including curtain side airbags, rear climate control, an antiskid system and an adequate 3.8-liter V6 that returns around 20 miles per gallon in combined city and highway driving.
