Now is the Camry still one of the most stolen automobiles around?

From Megill

AutoTrader: Unfortunately being popular with car buyers often also means being popular with car thieves. Lots of cars on the road mean more opportunities to steal one and more demand for the parts. The Camry has been one of the bestselling cars in America for decades, with more than 7 million sold. All of those Camrys make an appealing target for thieves.

Still, the Camry was only the third most stolen vehicle in 2010, behind the Honda Civic and Accord and ahead of the Chevy Silverado and Ford F-150, according to the most recent data from the National Insurance Crime Bureau. And most of the stolen Camrys were older, with the 1989 model most popular with car thieves. That’s likely because anti-theft technology has improved significantly in newer cars.

So you probably shouldn't let the slim chance that your Camry might get stolen deter you from buying one.
