The basketball season is back on. While games won't start until Christmas, NBA fans can get involved now by sliding behind the wheel of a car that was once owned by one of the NBA's top players.

For sale right now on AutoTrader is a 2009 Dodge Challenger that belonged to the Miami Heat Forward Udonis Haslem.

After playing college ball as a University of Florida Gator, Haslem spent his 2002-03 season with a basketball club in France. A year later, he had proven himself as a top-level player and returned to Florida to play for the Miami Heat. He has been there since, winning a championship with the team in 2006.

In 2010, Haslem accepted a five-year deal with the team that was reported to be worth around $20 million. So when the basketball star ordered his newest ride at the local Dodge dealer, he didn't skimp on the options.

The Challenger in question is the high performance SRT-8 model. It comes with a sport-tuned suspension, distinctive appearance and most importantly, a 6.1-liter, 425 horsepower Hemi V8 engine.

The Challenger is a full-fledged muscle car. Its big engine can launch the car from 0-60 in 4.6 seconds, while still achieving a pretty respectable 25-MPG on the highway.

Haslem wasn't satisfied with owning just any Challenger, so he modified the car to make it his own. The SRT-8's wheels were swapped out for a set of 24-inch Modular Concept rims, valued at nearly $1,000 per wheel.

Next, the stereo was upgraded. Two JL Audio sub-woofers were installed in a custom box that features the Miami Heat logo as well as Haslem's jersey number: 40. The subs are powered by a set of JL Audio amps, and a navigation equipped Pioneer deck ties the whole system together.

The car is listed by Platinum Leasing of Orlando, where owner Todd Shub said he deals with this sort of thing all the time. "All our customers, that's all we deal with are celebrities." Shub said

The dealer didn't list a price in the ad but a similarly equipped stock Challenger is priced at around $36,513, though it may be worth noting that that value doesn't include some of the aftermarket options or the Challenger's celebrity past.
