Pros: Dramatic styling; incredible performance; unrivaled exclusivity; classic Ferrari front-engine, V12 layout

Cons: Tremendously expensive; no back seats; hard to justify the premium over a 458 Italia

What's New: After making its debut late in the 2013 model year, the F12berlinetta is unchanged for 2014.

The 2014 Ferrari F12berlinetta is a front-engine, 2-door, 2-seat rear-wheel-drive supercar. And it doesn't take the supercar term lightly: Not only does the F12 include a massive 6.3-liter V12, it also boasts a whopping 730 horsepower and 509 lb-ft of torque. That makes it one of the most powerful cars on sale.

Of course, that also makes it one of the most expensive. A base-level F12berlinetta starts at around $317,000, and that's before options, which are numerous. They range from typical upgrades, such as a reversing camera and a navigation system, to exotic features, such as carbon fiber interior and exterior trim and adaptive headlights that self-level and swivel when the wheel is turned.

But performance is the name of the game for the 2014 Ferrari F12berlinetta, and it certainly delivers. The standard 7-speed dual-clutch automatic is one of the fastest in the business, and it propels the F12 to 60 miles per hour from a standing stop in just three seconds. Only a few years ago, such a time was considered unthinkable. Same goes for the F12's top speed, which is a shade over 210 mph. Equally impressive is the F12's adaptive suspension, which uses shock absorbers filled with magnetic fluid for a smooth ride and excellent cornering capabilities.

In other words, the F12berlinetta may be expensive, but if you're interested in today's best high-performance vehicle, it should make your short list.
