2012 Infiniti Models - New Car Update
The Infiniti lineup will receive a host of changes for 2012. Updates for the new model year include new features, trim changes, some styling tweaks and Infiniti's first-ever hybrid.
The EX crossover will receive just one change when the 2012 models goes on sale in September: a standard HomeLink garage door opener on EX35 Journey models.
The FX SUV is getting a facelift for the new model year. According to Infiniti, the SUV's interior dials, front grille and front fascia will be restyled, giving the FX a new look both inside and out. Heated front seats will now be standard on all models, and a new Limited Edition FX35 model will debut featuring 21-inch alloy wheels, a navigation system and Infiniti's Around View camera system. The 2012 FX35 will arrive at dealers in October
The popular Infiniti G sedan is receiving a few updates for 2012. Obsidian Black is a new exterior color. On the inside, Graphite will replace Monaco Red as an interior color option in Limited Edition models. G sedans equipped with the Sport Appearance Package will receive a new Midnight Black-painted grille. Except for adding a standard spare tire in the convertible, two-door G models will be mostly unchanged when the 2012 G goes on sale in September.
The biggest change to the M line for 2012 is the M35 Hybrid. Unveiled at last year's Los Angeles Auto Show and on sale since March, the Infiniti M35 Hybrid produces 360-horsepower while still managing 32 mpg. Starting price for the M35 Hybrid is just under $53,000. Other revisions to the M lineup include a new 18-inch wheel package and merging last year's Sport and Sport Touring packages into one single Sport Package.
Changes to Infiniti's large QX SUV will be minimal after its full redesign last year. On sale in August, the 2012 QX will feature Nissan's new Blind Spot Intervention system (BLIS) in the new Technology package and Bose Surround Sound in the Deluxe Touring Package.
While no other changes are expected for model year 2012, Infiniti has already announced the impending spring 2012 arrival of a new seven-passenger crossover, the JX, as a 2013 model. According to Infiniti, the JX will feature three-rows of seating, the brand's signature curvaceous styling and the "latest in-vehicle technology." We expect to get our first glimpse of the new crossover at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in August.
