2013 Nissan 370Z: Chicago Auto Show
- 2013 370Z gets revised fascias, two new wheel choices, two new colors
- Due to hit dealer showrooms in June 2012
With its long and storied history, the 370Z is one of the most recognizable and attainable sports cars around. To try and keep it fresh in between major revisions, Nissan used the 2012 Chicago Auto Show to unveil a group of relatively small cosmetic changes and a few other minor enhancements for the car's 2013 model year.
Leading the group of cosmetic changes are redesigned front and rear fascias, including a new pod of vertical LED daytime running lights in the front and a prominent red reflector in the rear. In addition to these design changes, the 370Z will be available in two new colors Magma Red and Midnight Blue.
Once again for 2013 the Z comes in Coupe, Roadster, or NISMO Z performance configurations. Models equipped with the Sport Package will get a trio of changes meant to enhance performance and look: new 19 inch aluminum alloy wheels, red-finished brake calipers visible through the wheel spokes, and "Euro-tuned" shock absorbers.
The NISMO Z will get a number of Bose audio system upgrades including two additional speakers and subwoofers, but it won't be getting the revised front and rear fascias or the Sport Package options. Instead it will retain the expected performance upgrades of the 2012 model including sport-tuned suspension, ultra lightweight alloy wheels and a 350 horsepower 3.7 liter V6.
Nissan says it will release pricing for all the configuration options closer to the Z's June launch.
What it means to you: Although its changes are relatively minor, the 2013 370Z remains one of the best sports car values on the road.
