ADDITIONAL MODEL INFORMATION
2015 Subaru Legacy

  • 2015 Legacy priced from $22,490; 3.6R starts at $30,390
  • All Legacy models come standard with all-wheel drive, CVT automatic
  • Fully redesigned Legacy reaches dealers in June

The 2015 Subaru Legacy will be priced from $22,490 when it goes on sale this summer. That's the latest from Subaru, which recently revealed pricing and equipment levels for the sixth-generation version of its all-wheel-drive midsize sedan.

According to Subaru, the $22,490 figure is for the base-level 2015 Legacy, dubbed the 2.5i, which sees a $400 price increase compared to the outgoing model. The 2.5i offers a 173-horsepower 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and boasts basic standard features such as Bluetooth, a 6.2-inch touchscreen and HD Radio. The base-level Legacy's base price is in line with competitors such as the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, both of which start around $23,000.

Shoppers looking for a little more equipment will want to upgrade to the 2.5i Premium, which starts at $24,290, an increase of just $200 over last year's version of the same trim level. That model includes dual-zone automatic climate control, a 7-in center touchscreen and an all-weather package.

Next up is the 2.5i Limited, which adds $3,000 to the Premium for a $27,290 starting price. The Limited includes 18-in alloy wheels, leather upholstery, Subaru's rear vehicle-detection system and a Harmon Kardon sound system.

Topping the Legacy's range is the 3.6R Limited, which offers a healthy power boost thanks to a standard 256-hp 6-cylinder engine. The 3.6R Limited starts at $30,390 and adds xenon headlights and dual exhaust tips in addition to the more powerful engine.

Subaru says pricing for all 2015 Legacy models includes a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), which is newly standard. Gone is the brand's 6-speed manual, which came standard in some Legacy models for the 2014 model year.

In addition to its standard equipment, the 2015 Subaru Legacy also offers several options that bring additional comfort and convenience to the model's lineup. One such feature is the brand's EyeSight system, which offers forward-collision alert and braking, radar cruise control, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert and a blind spot monitoring system. The Legacy also offers an available navigation system, keyless access with push-button starting and a power sunroof.

What it means to you: We're eager to see whether competitive pricing, standard all-wheel drive and a long list of standard features will finally help the Legacy get the attention it deserves in the midsize-sedan world.
