BMW Z4 Pure Fusion Design Revealed Ahead of Detroit Auto Show
- BMW Z4 to add new Pure Fusion Design package
- Package features interior upgrades, newly optional exterior color
- Adds designer look and feel to sporty Z4 roadster
BMW will reveal an all-new option package for its sporty Z4 roadster at this year's Detroit Auto Show. The so-called Pure Fusion Design package will include a long list of interior upgrades, as well as a newly available and highly unique exterior color.
While BMW has not yet revealed pricing for the Pure Fusion Design package, the automaker has announced what buyers can expect from the designer option group. Most of the revisions are concentrated inside the car, where shoppers will find unique sport seats finished in perforated Nappa leather. The seats will be colored white, with contrasting brown stitching.
Beyond the seats and stitching, the Z4's Pure Fusion Design package boasts Ivory White leather on the lower half of the sports car's dashboard. Many other areas, including the windowsills and upper dashboard, are finished in black leather. The result is a handsome 3-tone look usually seen on highly expensive luxury cars, and if that wasn't enough, the package also boasts an upscale wood grain on its dashboard and door panels.
Unfortunately for shoppers interested in showing off their Pure Fusion Design package to the outside world, the chic Z4 doesn't boast any exterior upgrades. The only difference over a standard Z4 comes in the model's color palette, which adds one new option: a dark metallic shade dubbed Sparkling Brown.
Though BMW has revealed the contents of its Pure Fusion Design package, the brand hasn't yet announced what models will carry the option group. We'd expect it will be offered in each of the car's trims: the Z4 sDrive28i, which uses a 240-horsepower 4-cylinder; the Z4 sDrive35i, which includes a 300-hp 6-cylinder; and the Z4 sDrive35is, which boosts the sDrive35i model's power by 35 horses.
We'll learn more about the Z4's Pure Fusion Design package, including its pricing, when BMW unveils it next month in Detroit.
What it means to you: The BMW Z4's Pure Fusion Design package is aimed at shoppers interested in a designer take on the sporty roadster.
