Ford Launches 2012 F-150 Harley Davidson Edition
There are few things more American than a big motorcycle or a pickup truck. Ford has been putting the two ingredients together for a few years now, and the company has announced it is set to come out with the latest edition of it's Harley Davidson F-150.
Ford's Harley Davidson special edition pickups have been a hit since the first truck went on sale in 1999. Over the past few years, the two brands have teamed up to make 10 different motorcycle themed F-150 trucks and six other pickup specials. Over the years, Ford has sold over 70,000 limited edition trucks.
Ford recently released new details about the latest version of the popular pickup.
The 2012 Harley Davidson pickup will come with a special set of 22-inch aluminum wheels with painted accents. A big swoosh graphic and more than a few Harley Davidson badges set the new model apart from all the other pickups on the road, while a new color, White Platinum Tri-Coat, will be available only on the new special edition.
The center console displays a large metal Harley Davidson badge, complete with a laser-etched serial number that makes each pickup unique. Just don't rest your arm on it on a hot summer day.
The truck sports a new, more aggressive front bumper and the body is lowered slightly giving the truck a more custom sporty look.
Inside, the new model gets snakeskin leather accents and all the optional extras you would expect from a top-of-the-line Ford pickup. The standard equipment list includes things like voice activated navigation, a moonroof and remote start.
Of course in the end, the Harley Davidson still has to be a pickup truck. The Harley special edition is built on the F-150's rugged chassis and with a 6.2 liter 411 horsepower V8 under the hood, capable of towing up to 7,500 pounds of equipment.
