ADDITIONAL MODEL INFORMATION
2012 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck

author photo by Nick Palermo January 2012
  • "Street truck" exterior look, with painted bumpers, fog lights and subtle badging
  • Luxury interior with full leather and piano black accents
  • Top of Ram pickup lineup

Adding to a wide range of trim lines available on its full-size pickup, Ram introduces the new Laramie Limited with range-topping luxury appointments. The truck, which has a factory-modified "street truck" look, is expected to hit dealerships this spring and will be offered in a range of duty and drive configurations. Upscale touches inside and out include a full premium leather interior with contrasting piping and piano black accents, special alloy wheels and chrome step bars and a long list of comfort and convenience equipment.

The Laramie Limited displaces the Laramie Longhorn at the top of the Ram lineup and is understated by comparison. Particularly, subtle badges identify the Limited but are less conspicuous than the bits tacked onto models like the Laramie Longhorn or Ford's King Ranch versions. Half-ton 1500 models get 20-inch wheels shared with the Longhorn, while 2500s and 3500s wear 17-inch aluminum wheels. With the exception of white and silver 2500 and 3500 models, bumpers are painted in the body color. Fog lights and chrome side steps are standard, and side moldings, mirrors and door handles are chrome, too.

Inside, the leather treatment covers not just the seats but the center console, steering wheel, shift knob and door panels. Seat upholstery gets contrasting piping, while upgraded Berber floor mats are set off with accent stitching. Piano black, liquid graphite and chrome finishes are used for trim components. Special lighting includes LEDs and illuminates the door handles, foot wells and front and rear map pockets.

From navigation to heated seats all around, a host of standard equipment on the Laramie Limited adds convenience and comfort for driver and passengers. Remote start, heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, power adjustable pedals with memory and a backup camera are all part of the package.

Hitting dealerships this spring, the Laramie Limited package will be available for 1500, 2500 and 3500 Crew Cab and Mega Cab models in two- and four-wheel drive configurations. Both short- and long-wheelbase models are offered. Pricing has not been announced, but should land above the 2012 Laramie Longhorn, which starts at $43,125.

What it means to you: Laramie Limited, the new top Ram pickup, hits dealers this spring with an upscale but subtle exterior look, a positively luxurious interior and loads of features and equipment.
