Nissan Releases Details on 2012 Titan and Armada
Nissan's full-size workhorses, the Titan pickup and Armada SUV, have been around since 2004. Over their eight-year run, Nissan has regularly tweaked and refined them. That trend continues for the 2012 model year, with both receiving incremental changes and price increases.
The Titan gets an all-new Sport Appearance package for the 2012 model year. The package includes a host of upgrades over the base truck.
Outside, Titans with the Sport Appearance package can be identified by 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels, dark front grille, step rails, locking compartment in the pickup bed, fog lights and a new "Titan" graphic outside the bed. Inside, the trucks get a new set of gauges, captain's chairs, specially embroidered cloth seat trim and a center console.
All 2012 Titans come with Nissan's 317-horsepower, 5.6-liter V8 engine and five-speed automatic transmission. When properly equipped, the Titan can tow up to 9,500 pounds.
Base prices for the 2012 Titan start at $27,410 for a two-wheel drive Titan S King Cab and go up to $40,210 for the top-level SL Crew Cab with four-wheel drive.
The Armada is available in three different trim levels for 2012: SV, SL and Platinum. Buyers can choose either two- or four-wheel drive in all versions.
The SUV receives only minor changes for 2012. A power lift gate is now standard on SL models and on SV models with the optional Driver package. The SL also gets heated front seats as standard equipment. High-end Armada Platinum models now get standard heated rear seats and a new armrest in back.
Nissan Armada buyers also have a new color to choose from: Brilliant Silver.
Like the Titan, all Armada models come with a 317-horsepower, 5.6-liter V8 engine. Prices for the 2012 Armada start between $38,490 and $53,950.
