What Is Hyundai Blue Link?
What began with seat belts and air bags has ballooned into SOS buttons and collision notifications. Hyundai Blue Link doesn't just help get you where you want to go, it makes the trip a safe one.
The in-vehicle system consists of a standard navigation screen on the center console and seven buttons at the bottom of the rearview mirror to help curb distractions. Each represents a different voice-activated function, connecting to Blue Link, navigation help and emergency services. These also can be accessed via the optional embedded navigation screen, where you can get turn-by-turn directions, restaurant ratings and gas station locations and prices.
Seeking out must-see detours for that upcoming day trip is a breeze once you've downloaded the Blue Link app on your smartphone. Lock and load your information and send it to your car before you get behind the wheel -- another big plus in the no-distracted-driving arena.
For the first three years, Hyundai Blue Link's most basic functions -- as part of the Assurance Package -- are free. This includes SOS emergency assistance, enhanced roadside help and a monthly vehicle health report.
With the Essentials Package ($99 a year after a 3-month trial), you'll also get such functions as remote door lock/unlock, car finder, stolen vehicle immobilization and Geo-Fence, a service that monitors your vehicle's movement in and out of a specified area.
The Guidance Package (also $99 per year) gives you added peace of mind, with such pluses as gas station location help and daily route guidance with traffic conditions.
Being safe also means making sure your ride is in tip-top shape. Blue Link's Car Care technology provides maintenance reminders and diagnoses, and keeps you informed about your vehicle's health.
Safety in a super-sleek package? We'll take it.
