What's new: The 2013 Aston Martin DB9 adds power to fill the hole created by the newly-cancelled Virage and DBS. Power jumps by 40 horses to 510, while torque is up 14 pound-feet to 457. The 2013 DB9 also offers a few styling tweaks over last year's model, along with a newly standard reversing camera.
The 2013 Aston Martin DB9 is a "grand touring" car that slots between the smaller V12 Vantage and the high-performance Vanquish in Aston's lineup. Two bodystyles are offered: a coupe, dubbed simply the DB9, and a soft-top convertible called the DB9 Volante. Both are powered by a 510-horsepower 6-liter V12. A six-speed automatic is the only transmission. The powerful coupe reaches 60 mph in around 4.5 seconds, though full-on track days are better left for the DB9's sport-tuned stablemate, the Vanquish.
The DB9 coupe starts around $184,000, while the open-top Volante starts just under $200,000. With last year's DBS and Virage cancelled, the DB9 is Aston's mid-range model. The smaller Vantage starts around $125,000, while the high-performance Vanquish starts around $280,000.
