Jim Belushi's Mercedes CL600: For Sale on AutoTrader
- Actor Jim Belushi owned this luxury coupe
- The V12 Mercedes is available for $88,888
- Belushi religiously maintained the CL600
Although buying a twelve-cylinder Mercedes can be an expensive proposition, shoppers interested in a pre-owned car can get an exceptional price break compared to a new one. But why settle for just any V12 Mercedes when you can have a tastefully modified CL600 previously owned by a Hollywood celebrity? You can ask yourself that very question if you're in the market for such a vehicle, as a Mercedes previously owned by actor Jim Belushi is currently for sale on AutoTrader.com.
Offered by EuroCar, Inc., in Costa Mesa, Calif., Belushi's 2008 CL600 arrived at the dealer with less than 20,000 miles on the odometer. The actor -- famous for his role in the ABC sitcom "According to Jim" -- was leasing the vehicle through Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, which sold it at auction when the lease ended. Belushi took good care of the car, with history reports showing that he religiously serviced at Mercedes dealerships in Newport Beach and Beverly Hills near his Los Angeles home.
"The car was in great shape when we got it," said EuroCar salesperson Danny Steurer, who noted that Belushi was its only owner. "We did a full inspection and discovered that he took great care of it."
But it wasn't Belushi who modified the coupe, giving it a distinctive appearance that sets it apart from other examples of the rare luxury car. Instead, EuroCar added the Brabus exterior package, which includes more aggressive dual fog lights, flared rocker panels and an upgraded exhaust. EuroCar also added the coupe's current 22-inch wheels, though the dealer says the next buyer can choose whether he wants to take them or use a different set of rims.
While the car looked different when Belushi owned it, we can see the actor's attraction to the CL600. In addition to a 510-horsepower turbocharged V12, the CL600 offers an extravagant list of standard equipment that includes adaptive cruise control, a rearview camera, Mercedes "night view" camera and a blind spot detection system. And with sales down to a trickle -- even in car-crazy Los Angeles -- the CL600 certainly provides a high degree of exclusivity on the roads.
For a buyer interested in a unique used car, Belushi's former CL600 surely fits the bill -- especially at its current asking price of $88,888, which is far less than its original MSRP of more than $150,000 just four years ago.
What it means to you: Belushi's CL600 provides an exclusive opportunity for a fraction of its value when new.
