EX 2.0 1 Year Warranty Included 2001 HONDA CR-V EX JHLRD18611C045316 4 DR. WAGON/SPORT UTILITY 2.0L L4 FI SOHC 16V ALL WHEEL DRIVE Vehicle Overview Honda introduced a Special Edition (SE) model of the CR-V in the spring of 2000 as a midyear addition designed to perk up sales of this car-based SUV. For 2001, the SE becomes part of the regular CR-V lineup. Leather seats a CD player and body-color bumpers, side moldings and a hard spare tire cover are among the SE?s standard features. Derived from the previous generation Civic platform, the CR-V has been the most popular car-based SUV, but it faces increased competition this year from the redesigned Toyota RAV4, the new Ford Escape and the Mazda Tribute. Honda plans to redesign the CR-V for the 2002 model year. It will be built off the new Civic platform but will have a more powerful engine. Exterior The CR-V is a four-door wagon with classic SUV styling that hides its passenger-car origins. The overall length of 177 is 4 inches longer than the Ford Escape. Access to the cargo area is through a two-way tailgate: The window flips up, and the tailgate swings open to the right (with the outside spare tire attached). Interior CR-V has the typical SUV seating arrangements of two front buckets and a three-place rear bench that folds flat for maximum cargo room of 67 cubic feet. Among the unique touches is a plastic cargo cover that folds out to create a picnic table. Also unusual for a Japanese brand vehicle is that the automatic transmission lever is on the steering column instead of the floor. Under the Hood A 146-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is used on all models and comes with either a four-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission. Front- and four-wheel-drive models are available, and the Real Time 4WD system engages automatically to maintain traction. Honda describes the CR-V as suited for light-duty offroad adventures and not serious off-roading. Driving Impressions The CR-V is the best-selling > More info

i 4.4 2000 BMW 540I WBADN5343YGC93863 SEDAN 4 DR 4.4L V8 FI DOHC REAR WHEEL DRIVE Vehicle Overview A high-performance M5 sedan joins the 5 Series lineup, giving BMW a direct rival for the Mercedes-Benz E55, a muscle-car version of the E-Class sedan. The M5 returns to the United States after a seven-year hiatus. Besides the M5, the 5 Series lineup includes the six-cylinder 528i and V-8 540i, both of which come as sedans and station wagons. Exterior The M5's visual distinctions from other 5 Series sedans include a larger air scoop and oval fog lamps in the front air dam, four exhaust pipes at the rear and 18-inch tires mounted on wheels with a chrome satin finish. At 188 inches overall, the 5 Series sedan is about an inch shorter than the E-Class and nearly 9 inches shorter than the Lexus LS400. All three have rear-wheel drive. Interior All models come with front bucket seats with 10-way power adjustments, automatic climate control and a power tilt/telescopic steering column. Leather upholstery is standard on the 540i and M5 and optional on the 528i. A split, folding rear seatback is optional on all. Under the Hood The M5 comes with a 400-horsepower 5.0-liter V-8 engine and a six-speed manual transmission only. To help owners manage all that power, BMW throws in a free driver-training course at its new Performance Center next to the Spartanburg, S.C., plant where the Z3 and X5 are built. A 193-horsepower 2.8-liter inline six-cylinder powers the 528i and is available with a five-speed manual or new five-speed automatic transmission. The 540i has a 4.4-liter V-8 with 282 horsepower and comes with either a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic. In a switch from usual pricing practices, the 540i costs more with manual than automatic ($54,470 versus $51,670). Safety All models have two-stage front airbags whose deployment force depends on crash severity and whether the occupants are buckled, side-impact airbags for the front seats, and the Head Protection system a tu> More info

SE 2.7 2001 DODGE INTREPID SE 2B3HD46R51H562480 SEDAN 4 DR 2.7L V6 SFI DOHC FRONT WHEEL DRIVE Vehicle Overview Dodge's most popular car adds side-impact airbags for the front seats as a new option this year, joining the similar Chrysler Concorde, LHS and 300M in offering that feature. All four cars are built from the same basic front-drive platform, but all have different styling and varying missions. While the Chrysler models are aimed at luxury buyers, the Intrepid is geared toward people who want a sporty family sedan or performance-oriented big car. A high-performance R/T (road/track) model joined the Intrepid lineup early in calendar-year 2000 as a prelude to Dodge entering the NASCAR stock-car racing series in 2001. An Intrepid-based stock car will debut at the Daytona 500 in February. Exterior Like its Chrysler cousins, the boldly styled Intrepid turns more heads on the road than other full-size cars. The 'cab-forward' design pioneered by Chrysler pushes the wheels to the ends of the car, and the low nose and high tail give it a sleek, aerodynamic shape with a coefficient of drag of .30 - better than some sports cars. The Intrepid is nearly 204 inches long - 4 inches longer than a Chevrolet Impala and about an inch longer than the Pontiac Bonneville - and rides a 113-inch wheelbase. Interior Five-passenger seating is standard, but an optional front bench seat gives the base SE model seats for six. The ES and R/T models are available only with front buckets. All doors open wide enough for easy entry and exit, and the spacious Intrepid accommodates tall passengers front and rear. At 18.4 cubic feet, the trunk provides ample cargo room, though the high liftover makes loading heavy items a chore. A split, folding rear seatback is standard on the SE and optional on the other models. One major difference from Dodge's styling compared to the similar Chrysler models: The Intrepid has a much larger rear window, giving the driver a better view for parking and changin> More info
