The Lotus Elise, a 2-seat roadster with a targa-style removable soft top, has been upgraded in 2008 with a new instrument display, trip computer, and revised options packages. Standard and the new Elise SC trim levels are available that differ in engine, rear spoiler, and wheel design. The standard Lotus Elise is powered by a 1.8L 4-cylinder engine that produces 189 hp and 133 lb-ft of torque with a 6-speed manual transmission. The SC has a supercharged version of the standard engine that gets up to 218 hp and 156 lb-ft of torque. Standard are 16-in front wheels and 17-in rear wheels with high-performance tires, Lotus/AP Racing & Brembo brakes, and HID xenon headlights. The Touring Pack adds leather, interior storage, and sound insulation. The Sport Pack includes lightweight silver alloy wheels, a track-tuned suspension with Bilstein dampers, traction control, and sport seats.
