Equipped with all-wheel drive, the Forester 2.5X is powered by a 2.5L four-cylinder engine that produces 170 hp and 170 lb-ft of torque, paired to a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic. Forester XT trim levels have a turbocharged version of the four-cylinder engine that blasts out 224 hp and 226 lb-ft of torque with a mandatory automatic transmission. EPA-estimated fuel economy for the 2.5X is 20 mpg city/26 mpg hwy and 22 mpg in combined driving, while the XT delivers an estimated 19/24/21 mpg. Subaru Forester standard safety features include antilock brakes with brake assist, traction and stability control, front seat side airbags and front and rear side curtain airbags. Inside, the five passenger compartment combines function with true comfort and convenience. Available amenities include leather-trimmed upholstery and heated front seats.
