Similar to the S70 sedan, the mid-size premium 1998 Volvo V70 is a five-passenger wagon that is available in a handful of trims. The V70 comes standard with a 2.4L five-cylinder engine that produces 168 hp and is rated at 29 mpg on the highway. A mid-level turbocharged 2.4L engine is offered which produces 190 hp and 199 lb-ft of torque. At the top of the range is a turbocharged 2.3L engine which develops 236 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque. The V70 is available with FWD or AWD.
