Sports car enthusiasts say goodbye this year to one of the only remaining pony cars - the Pontiac Firebird - with production slated to end in 2002. The Firebird ? a staple for generations in the Pontiac line-up ? goes out in style. It?s offered in Coupe and Convertible body styles, in Base, Formula and Trans Am trims depending on the model. Engines range from a sizeable 200 horsepower 3.8-liter V6 to a 310 horsepower 5.7-liter V8. Standard equipment includes air conditioning, cruise control, power accessories, front bucket seats, airbags, ABS brakes and AM/FM/CD.
