For sale on AutoTrader: Bryant McKinnie's 2007 Cadillac Escalade
For sale right now on AutoTrader is a 2007 Cadillac Escalade that once belonged to NFL player Bryant McKinnie.
McKinnie went to college at University of Miami where he won both the Outland and Jim Parker trophies.
McKinnie was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the 2002 pick. He played for the Vikings for eight years, and was picked up by the Baltimore Ravens earlier this year. McKinnie has started in 131 games and in 2009, he was selected for the Pro Bowl.
According to Ken Behr, the owner of US Auto LTD, McKinnie has maintained a bit of his old life in Florida when he is not playing in his colder home cities up North. "We think this was his Miami car," Behr said of the blinged-out Escalade he's selling.
The Escalade's design has been heavily modified, including an aftermarket grill and badges alone cost in the neighborhood of $3,500.
The big Caddy has also been fitted with 26-inch wheels, a DVD player, suede interior and a stereo system that looks like it could do permanent damage to a person's hearing. In all, McKinnie's Cadillac sports over $30,000 in upgrades.
2007 was the first year for the third generation Cadillac Escalade. It got an all-new look and a 6.2-liter aluminum V8 engine. The big motor churns out 403 horsepower, which allows it to tow up to 7,400 pounds.
The Escalade is rated at a combined 14 MPG on the highway, but with this truck's free flowing exhaust and some light driving we think it's possible to squeeze another one or two miles out of a gallon of gas.
Aftermarket modifications, usually don't add too much value to a used car. So the asking price of $31,995 sounds about right when compared with the KBB value for a similar, unmodified Escalade.
