2012 Porsche Cayman Overview

The 2012 Porsche Cayman is a mid-engine, RWD, sports coupe that is powered by a 2.9-liter V6 engine that produces 265 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. Upgrading to the S trim grants the driver 3.4-liter V6 engine that produces 320 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. For an even greater boost in performance Porsche offers a R trim level that loses unnecessary weight and tweaks the same engine on the S trim to raise performance to 330 hp, for a 0-60 time of 4.7 seconds. New for 2012 is the Cayman S Black Edition which yields the same specs as the Cayman R trim but coats the vehicle's interior and exterior in a black finish. All Cayman models are RWD and come standard with a 6-speed manual transmission but can be upgraded to a 7-speed PDK transmission. Fuel mileage falls within an EPA estimated range of 19 mpg city to 29 mpg highway, depending on engine and transmission selection. Features include navigation, Bluetooth? connectivity, surround sound-system, park assist, and universal audio interface. Safety features are comprised of a two-stage airbag system, advanced braking system, stability management, and anti-theft protection. The Cayman is backed by a 4-year/50,000-mile warranty.
