Land Cruiser Landing Soon
We spotted this new 2001 model Toyota Land Cruiser undergoing testing in Europe, far away from where it will be assembled -- in an all-new Toyota assembly plant in Gibson County, Indiana. The next Land Cruiser will be based on the new Toyota Tundra full-size pickup, and will cruise down the very same assembly line. Sources say the new Land Cruiser will be larger, with possible third-row seating. In an unusual move, the Land Cruiser will move "down-market," from is current spot among the high-dollar luxury SUVs, to compete with more mainstream full-size models like the Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Yukon, Ford Expedition, and upcoming Dodge variant, based on the Ram pickup. Prices for the higher-volume Land Cruiser should be at least $5,000 less than the current model.
