Audi's on a roll. Its string of hits that started with A4 sedan is now reaching new heights with the TT Coupe, which goes on sale in the U.S. this summer. But even before the car hits the streets here, Audi brass are considering an even hotter version of the mechanical animal TT.

According to inside sources, Audi is currently developing a "Supersport" version of its TT Coupe. Probably badged STT, the hot-looking coupe will come with slight exterior modifications, including a lowered body, new front bumper with larger air intakes, and an automatically appearing rear spoiler. Power for the hot TT is likely to come from a newly developed 3.0-liter V-6 pushing out more than 230 hp. The STT is expected to be introduced at the 1999 Frankfurt Motor Show next fall.
