Ezequiel Lucero spent three years customizing this 2004 Scion xB, but all that effort won him a trip to Hollywood. The car was featured in the past two installments of the "The Fast and The Furious" film franchise. After being featured briefly in "Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift," the car got even more screen time in last year’s series reboot: "Fast and Furious."
"The xB is in an outdoor club scene where you see another blue xB with TVs in the headlamps. Then they quickly pan to my car where the guys are sitting in the back seat and you see the TV monitors displayed," Lucero said.
Lucero customized the exterior with 19-inch wheels, LED highlights, and bright yellow paint. To match the go-fast look, he added numerous performance upgrades including exhaust headers and Nitrous Oxide. The interior has also been updated with a top-shelf sound system, television monitors and GPS.
"I took lots of time to get everything right," he said.
But what price fame? The experts at NADA Guides suggest that a clean 2004 Scion xB should sell for about $10,000. So at $26,500, this car is carrying a healthy premium. Of course you do have to factor in all those upgrades and its brush with fame.
Whether it's worth the money or not is up to you, but there's no denying this car can claim something that's likely unique on AutoTrader.com: It got to appear next to action star, Vin Diesel.
"I was actually about six feet from Vin," Lucero said.
