People have been hunting since prehistoric times, so it's only logical that we've come a long way in developing the tools for the job. Even bow hunters who prefer a more traditional approach rely on the latest high-tech equipment. Hardly anyone hurls rocks.

Today, the ultimate hunting experience requires the best equipment, including the truck that gets you there. Setting out to build this vehicle, Chevrolet teamed up with longtime partner and camouflage leader Realtree. The resulting Silverado Realtree Concept debuts next week at SEMA in Las Vegas.

The platform for what Chevy calls "the ultimate hunter's truck" is a Silverado 2500 HD crew cab, ensuring enough passenger space for the whole hunting party. The 4x4 sits on 35-inch tires mounted to 18-inch wheels and is powered by a 397-horsepower Duramax diesel. With a mighty 765 lb.-ft. of torque, this arrangement gives the Silverado Realtree the off-road and towing capability to haul an ATV-laden trailer deep into the woods. A winch is integrated into the custom front bumper should the terrain temporarily prevail.

The tough look of the big, off-road tires is complemented by Realtree exterior graphics over custom Champagne Metallic Silver paint. The graphics stretch the length of the vehicle and extend onto the Silverado Realtree Concept's custom rear cap. Inside, seats are upholstered in Dark Cocoa leather with Realtree piping and blaze orange stitching. Further Realtree accents adorn other interior surfaces.

"This truck is a celebration of the seven-year partnership between Chevrolet and Realtree. It's only natural to combine the dependable, long-lasting Silverado HD with Realtree, the best gear for the outdoors," said Tony Truelove, marketing manager for Chevrolet pickups. "Like all great outdoor gear, the Silverado Realtree Concept is designed to get the job done - and look sharp while doing it."

Chevrolet's pickup truck segment competitor Ram already has a special edition created with the hunter in mind. Ram teamed up with a Realtree competitor to dress up a 1500 4x4 Crew Cab called the Mossy Oak Edition. Should the Silverado Realtree Concept find its way to production, the heavy-duty diesel may take the title of "ultimate hunting truck you can actually buy" from the lighter-duty, gas-powered Ram.
