Back in the day, if you had the means to purchase a new Ferrari you were assured of having a rather unique automobile, and the odds of meeting someone else on the road with the same car were very low.
But now with more Ferraris being sold than ever before, the ability to personalize the car has become much more important. While Ferrari customers had always been able to order their new car exactly as they wanted, the company has created a program to assist new customers with their purchase decisions.
This new "One-To-One Personalization Program" allows a Ferrari customer to sit down with a consultant in a specially dedicated area that has been created at the factory in Maranello. Clients will create their own vehicle, going through every accessory and detail with the consultant until the vehicle is exactly as the buyer wants it.
The program will be launched exclusively for those ordering the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti. The 612 is the flagship of the Ferrari line, and the only 2+2 offered by the Italian automaker. A special assembly area in the Maranello factory will be dedicated to producing these custom Ferrari 612s.
In addition to each 612 going through the One-To-One program, the car itself features a number of changes and improvements for the new model year. The most noticeable change is the new electrochromic panoramic roof. Covering the entire passenger compartment, this unique roof can be changed from clear to solid with the turn of a knob.
The 612 Scaglietti is now available with Ferrari's SuperFast gearbox. With paddle shifters located on the steering column, the driver can shift gears in an amazing 100 milliseconds. With the new gearbox linked to the 540-horsepower V12 engine under the hood, the 612 Scaglietti can reach 62 mph in a mere four seconds on its way to a top speed of almost 200 mph.
