At the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show Jaguar Cars took advantage of the proximity of nearby Hollywood to host a Hollywood-style party for media, owners, potential customers and party-goers at Milk Studios Los Angeles. They got to see the all-new XJ sedan for one of the first times in the US, and Jaguar revealed that the car will be featured in an upcoming music video by JAY-Z.

Partygoers mingled with Ian Callum, the talented designer of the car, along with chief executives of Jaguar Cars from the UK. Everyone was able to check out the sleek new luxury sedan along with other Jaguar models while listening to live music and mingling with Hollywood celebs.

"JAY-Z is an icon who has blazed an unprecedented path through music, fashion, business and sports; making his video "On to the Next One" the absolutely right vehicle for the all-new 2011 Jaguar XJ to make its global entertainment industry debut," said Mike O' Driscoll, Managing Director of Jaguar Cars." Just as the concept of the video speaks to success and the birth of new ideas, the all-new XJ is a breakthrough luxury automobile that we designed to elevate the luxury car experience and create a new automotive icon for style and indulgence."

Fans of multi-platinum artist JAY-Z as well as enthusiasts of the 2011 XJ sedan will be able to view the "On to the next One" video by visiting www.interactiveJaguar.com in January.

Breaking away from the traditional highly regarded, but long-in-the-tooth, XJ-style, the stunning-looking, all-new XJ will be available in the US this spring as a standard wheelbase model or a long wheelbase model with an extra five inches of rear seat legroom.

Like its smaller sister the XF, the XJ will have a choice of three engines – a 5.0-liter 385 hp naturally aspirated V8 which develops 380 lb. ft. of torque; a 5.0-liter 470-hp supercharged V8 making 424 lb. ft. of torque; and a 510-hp supercharged V8 pumping out 461 lb. ft. of torque.

The new Jaguar XJ is constructed using Jaguar's aerospace-inspired aluminum body technology with a pressure cast aluminum and magnesium frame, which makes the XJ at least 300 lbs. lighter over steel body construction. It also provides benefits to performance, handling and fuel economy, while delivering increased strength, refinement and safety. A panoramic glass roof is an integral part of the all-new XJ's design, allowing a lower, more streamlined roof, while dramatically contributing to the feeling of natural light and space inside.

Options will include a 1200-watt, 20-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system. A unique front split-view screen that can show a movie for the passenger while the driver sees only a navigation map is available in some countries, but is not currently legal for use in the US.

Prices will range from $72,500 for the "base" XJ to $115,000 for the top-of-the-line XJL Supersport.
