You Have to Trace it to Understand

When you visit a Cadillac dealer to test drive the incredibly sexy 2011 CTS Coupe, make sure you befriend the sales staff. That'll make them less likely to scold you for fingerprinting the car. The only way to understand the CTS Coupe's racy roofline is to run your hand from the base of the windshield, over the top of the driver's door, and physically feel the sheetmetal as it twists into a waterfall C-pillar, ending in an LED taillamp that subtly strakes upward in remembrance of the iconic 1950s "Cadillac tailfin." Trace the CTS Coupe’s lines by hand, and you’ll realize that the super-skewed bumpers and hand-sculpted rear fenders are truly victories in design and engineering.

The four-seater reuses the CTS Sedan's intricate interior, where hand-stitched door panel inserts and an available motorized navigation display serve as centerpieces. Under-hood hardware is borrowed from the CTS Sedan as well. The standard 3.6-liter direct-injection V6 pumps out 304 horsepower through a standard six-speed manual or optional six-speed automatic transmission. In a segment rarity, the CTS Coupe is also available with all-wheel-drive, proving that the most hand-washable Cadillac in history might be worthy of racetrack cred when it launches in spring 2010.
