The San Diego International Auto Show makes the most of Southern California's understated metro, which is one of the strongest car markets in America. According to show management, attendance at the show is bolstered by the down time people have between the Christmas and New Year's holidays.

And, the exhibit has become a staple at the show for four years running.  As a major sponsor, gets to connect with San Diego car shoppers and, this year, gives them a chance to win a $50,000 prize for a car found on

After a multi-show promotional run, a lucky sweepstakes winner will be announced after the San Diego show ends, January 3rd.  But's involvement with the folks in San Diego goes beyond the sweepstakes. With kiosks around the booth available for cruising the giant website, people have the chance to surf while personally chatting with knowledgeable employees.

"When people come by the booth, they are ready to play our fun 'Match It!' game and sign up for our sweepstakes, but they also want to know about and how best to use the site," said ATC's Experiential Marketing pro, Sherry Osegueda. "Some of the top discussions revolve around how best to price a car for selling," said Osegueda. "We tell them to be sure and research how others are pricing the same type of car. There's also a chance for us to help users with the lifestyle questionnaire on the site – in just 10 minutes, they can prompt a great list of cars that match their own unique lifestyle."

Show Director, Kevin Leap feels that the sponsorship in San Diego matches well with the interactive program of the overall show. "People love to play the games in the booth and having a meaningful interaction with such a major player on the web gives our attendees another outlet for car shopping with no pressure whatsoever."

Another interactive area at the show involves on-site consumer ride and drives sponsored by major manufacturers including Toyota, GM, Ford, Kia and Jeep.

Leap said that for San Diego, the auto show provides a great wrap-up to a year that saw car sales deeply effected. "Whether people are in the market for a car or not, folks in San Diego feel good about their active lifestyle and want to at least imagine getting out and driving fast with the feel of the wind in their face."
