With more SUVs available than ever before, automakers must use an increasing number of incentives and special offers to sway consumers towards their vehicles. We've searched through incentives available throughout April to find some of the top deals for buyers looking to lease or purchase a new SUV this month.

Chevrolet EquinoxChevrolet Equinox

Although the Chevrolet Equinox has been a success among midsize crossovers, the automaker is still offering several deals in April to help keep the SUV selling. While 2012 Equinox models hardly offer any incentives - Chevrolet is advertising 60-month interest rates as low as 2.9 percent for qualified buyers - the best deals can be had on leftover 2011 models, which are available with zero percent financing for a whopping 60 months. While the automaker is also advertising compelling offers on its larger Traverse, we remain interested in the Equinox for its impressive value, handsome looks and long list of standard features.

Ford ExpeditionFord Expedition

The aging Ford Expedition is available with several special offers in April. For car shoppers interested in financing the large SUV, Ford is offering interest rates as low as zero percent for 60 months, or 1.9 percent for up to 72 months. Buyers looking to pay in full can also find a good deal, with cash back rates as high as $2,500, depending on the model. But even better deals are available on leftover 2011s, which feature cash back incentives as high as $3,500 and financing offers of zero percent for 60 months or 1.9 percent for 72 months plus up to $500 cash back.

Honda PilotHonda Pilot

To keep up the strong sales pace of its aging Pilot midsize SUV, Honda is offering large incentives to car shoppers, regardless of whether they're looking to lease or purchase. Shoppers interested in leasing get the best deal, with monthly payments as low as $289 with $1,999 due at signing, though the automaker's financing offer of 0.9 percent for up to 36 months and 1.9 percent for up to 60 months is also an attractive one for the notoriously reliable SUV. If you're interested in something smaller, Honda is also offering a lease deal on its recently redesigned 2012 CR-V, which features monthly payments of just $239 after a sizeable $2,799 at signing.

Nissan RogueNissan Rogue

The curvy Nissan Rogue is offered with a host of compelling deals through the end of April. According to Nissan, qualified buyers interested in financing the compact SUV can get interest rates as low as zero percent for up to 36 months or 0.9 percent for 60 months, while the automaker is offering up to $1,000 cash back to buyers who choose the base-level 2012 Rogue S. Nissan is also offering the SUV with a 39-month lease deal, advertising a Rogue S equipped with all-wheel drive for just $249 per month after $2,999 at signing. Unfortunately, similar deals aren't available on the lovable Nissan Juke, which isn't available with any incentives or special pricing.

Toyota VenzaToyota Venza

Since its 2009 release, Toyota's practical Venza crossover has failed to meet the automaker's sales goals, leading to deep discounts and large incentives. In April, the seven-seat Venza is available with lease offers as low as $249 per month for 36 months, albeit with $2,999 due at signing. For car shoppers looking to finance their next vehicle instead of lease, the automaker is also offering the 2012 Venza with zero percent interest for up to 36 months and 0.9 percent for up to 60 months, making it a good deal among today's SUVs and a great deal for Toyota, which rarely advertises such large-scale incentives.

What it means to you: Potential car buyers can find many great deals on today's SUVs - especially if they're willing to choose an outgoing model.
