Pickup trucks are traditionally available with some of the largest incentives in the industry. With the 2012 model year winding down, many automakers are offering generous incentives and deals to clear dealer inventory before 2013 models start arriving. For shoppers who don't need the latest and greatest, that means many truck deals are available, and our latest list highlights some of the top offers on our favorite pickups.
Chevrolet is winding down production of its full-size, 4-door Avalanche pickup, which translates into great deals for truck shoppers. According to the automaker, leftover 2012 Avalanche models are available with up to $4,500 cash back for buyers paying in full or, for shoppers looking to finance, 0.9 percent interest for up to 60 months. Unfortunately for buyers interested in the latest and greatest, such deals don't extend to the 2013 Avalanche, which is only offered with $2,000 cash back. But as this year's model is almost exactly the same, we recommend seeking out a remaining 2012 Avalanche to get the best deal possible.
The full-size Ford F-150 is available with several great offers in September. According to Ford, qualified shoppers interested in financing a remaining 2012 model can get interest rates as low as zero percent for up to 60 months plus up to $1,000 back in Ford's trade-in assistance program. Buyers looking to pay with cash for a 2012 F-150 will also get a deal, with Ford offering up to $5,500 back depending on the body style. Similar deals are also available on Ford's full-size Super Duty pickup, which is available with zero percent interest for up to 60 months plus $1,500 back or a whopping $4,500 cash back for buyers paying in full.
Nissan's midsize Frontier pickup is available with several incentives throughout September. For shoppers looking to finance the truck, Nissan says the Frontier is available with zero percent interest for up to 60 months, or 1.9 percent for 72 months plus up to $500 cash back. Buyers interested in purchasing the truck with cash will also find a good deal, as Nissan is offering up to $2,000 back on 2012 models in September. For buyers interested in something a little larger, Nissan is also offering its full-size Titan pickup with similar interest rates as the Frontier but cash back deals ranging as high as $5,000.
Chrysler is offering big incentives this month on its full-size Ram pickup, whether shoppers are looking to lease, finance, or buy with cash. According to the automaker, buyers looking to finance a Ram 1500 can get interest rates as low as zero percent for up to 60 months on nearly all versions of the large truck. Shoppers who would rather pay cash can get between $3,000 and $3,500 back, depending on the model. And for customers interested in leasing, Chrysler is offering its Ram 1500 Express Quad Cab with payments of just $289 per month for 39 months after $2,999 at signing--a rare lease deal among full-size trucks that's worth considering for shoppers who plan to keep their pickup in pristine condition.
Several deals are available on Toyota's full-size Tundra pickup during September. According to the automaker, qualified buyers interested in financing the truck can get zero percent interest for up to 60 months--a generous term for Toyota, but common among full-size trucks. For shoppers interested in leasing, Toyota's September deal applies to the popular 2012 Tundra Double Cab with its strong 5.7-liter V8. According to the automaker, that model is available with payments of just $299 per month for 36 months after $2,999 at signing, giving buyers a rare lease deal on a full-size pickup. The Tundra is even offered with a cash-back deal this month, with Toyota touting up to $3,500 back for shoppers interested in paying with cash for their next pickup.
What it means to you: Don't buy a pickup in September without negotiating a great price or taking advantage of one of the truck deals we've listed--or both.
